The Rangers have joined the Fielder fray along with the Angels and White Sox, tweets SI's Jon Heyman. Fielder would already cost a lot in terms of prospects, so I can't imagine what it'd take to convince the Brewers to pick up most of his remaining $3.88MM this year too. This is also the first we've heard in a while about the Halos being interested in Fielder.
Evan Grant has also said that the Brewers had scouts at the TEX/LAA game all series.
Another interesting note is that Ian Kinsler was just placed on the DH, and the Rangers called up a 1B/RF in Mitch Moreland. Obviously, they have Chris Davis at the major league level already, and Moreland isn't a 2nd basemen, so something might be going on.
Brewers are probably asking for a package of: Derek Holland or Tommy Hunter, Martin Perez, Engel Beltre, and either Chris Davis or Moreland. Brewers would pick up all of Fielder's salary for this season, and would pay for part of his salary next season.
Thoughts?
