At my last ballgame, I pointed out to my wife that "pudge" was coming up to the plate and explained his greatness. My wife shrugged and said....he looks slow now.
There are so many great players I never saw in their prime, but now have the oppurtunity to watch before they hang em up.
I guess my question is....
1) who was the best player you ever saw play (live)?
2) who was the worst?
3) who would you like to see regardless of age/skill just to say, you saw them play?
I would say
1) Don Mattingly (it was brief but there was no one better)
2) Derek Bell ( No one hits into a double play better)
3) I would love to watch Pete Reiser play. My dad used to say before pete rose was charley hustle....pete reiser owned that name.
