House hold names

Which team has the least known players? Most teams have atleast one house hold name even with lower payrolls (Padres, Brewers, Rays), and some teams have more then others (Yankees, Red Sox, Phillies--Usually your higher payroll teams).

There are four teams IMO that have little to none big names Royals ,A's, Pirates, and Indians. These teams all have good players, but does the average baseball fan know them? Us on these message boards follow baseball more then the average fan, but how many players can you name on these teams without cheating? I'll give it a try:

Royals: Billy Butler, Joakim Soria, Zack Greinke, Jason Kendall, Gil Meche, Gregor Blanco, Jesse Chavez

A's: Dallas Braden, Brett Anderson, Raja Davis, Eric Chavez, Andrew Bailey, Trevor Cahill, Coco Crisp

Pirates: Andrew Mccutchen, Paul Maholm, Evan Meek, Garrett Jones, Ryan Doumit, Lastings Millege, Zach Duke, Pedro Alvaez, Jose Tabata, Neil Walker

Indians: Grady Sizemore, Shin-Soo Choo, Travis Hafner, Fausto Carmona, Carlos Santana, Matt Laporta

Could the average fan even name 2 players on each of those teams?

I can literaly not name more then 6 players on the Indians and I am a baseball fanatic.

Compared to the Yankees:

Yankees: Tex, Arod, Jeter, Mo, Cano, Kearns, Berkman, Granderson, Pettite, Vaz, Joba, Hughes, CC, Wood, Thames, Gardner, Park, Posada, Cervelli, Swisher

I can even use nicknames and yall still know who I'm talking about.

I'd say the Indians have the least known players. This is why we need a salary basement of 50 million. A salary basement would mean teams like the Indians and Pirates can't just pocket all their money and won't trade all their talent to big market teams.

I know this is

but if you're putting a basement at 50 million, you need a cap too. It's only right. And I am completely in agreement that my pittsburgh pirates need to have a payroll of 50-60 million. But if you want a floor, you need a cap.

What would be a cap that is possible? It would have to go in effect in like 2015, maybe 110 million?

games like ootp have kept me up on knowing at least 80% of the active major leaguers.

that and I watch random games all the time.

So your saying we need a salary cap in baseball, not for competitive balance, but to make sure every team has a known player on it's team? ****ing get real. Sizemore until the two injury plauged years was pretty well known as is Greinkie. And the A's have the man with the best name in the game, Coco Crisp, everyone knows who he is, superstar or not.
