How come there is no love for the boys north of the border...despite the departure of their franchise...Roy Halladay...Jays have silenced their critics ...pretty much everyone in the universe like the guys on espn.com... predicted jays to be mediocre...terrible...but they have been anything but that...they are tearing up the ball with massive homeruns..(lead majors)...and an impressive young pitching staff that has had more no hitter attempts into late innings than anyother staff....so how come no love for them? they are not in playoff hunt...but they are not orioles either...whom people predicted would finish ahead of jays...
espn.go.com/mlb/preview10/team/_/name/torKey Facts about jays
64-57....
186 home runs as off Aug 19.- about 20 more than 2nd closest
Jose Bautista - Surprise player of the year
Marcum, Romero, Cecil, Morrow...have had starts where no hitters were broken late in the ininngs..
Thoughts?

Considering the division they are playing in, 64-57 through 121 games is very good. Great young pitching, Bautista having a career year, and Wells returning to form really help. Put this team in any division in the NL (and maybe the AL Central) and they would be in first place. If they didn't have to play New York, Boston, and Tampa over 50 times per year, they could win 90 games. 4 of the 7 best records in the AL are in the East, and Toronto is only 2 games behind Chicago for the 6th best record. Pretty impressive.

You just said put them in any division in the NL and they are in first....LMAO. You are overestimating the AL. Then you say "maybe the AL Central". So your saying the AL Central is better then any NL division..

Every team in the NL sucks except for the Padres

Lol. Whatever you say chief. What do you think about the Braves beating up on the Rays and Twins this year then?

Lets move the Braves to the AL and see if they can do that more than once a season before we call that "beating up"

best division in baseball belongs to the AL East- Blue Jays would be first (or second easily) in any division with playoffs right down to the wire every year.
Of course that mentality would be different if they were in a different division overall, in the first place. teams in the AL are not willing to settle for rebuilding while losing. I think this has been a first time in years that the Jays are retooling for near future success. And not only are they retooling, they are winning as well.
everyone thought the Jays would be in last and have a record under .500 especially with the loss of Roy Halladay, except the fact 1 through 4 for the Jays have been pretty strong. Jays getting some international scouting and strong pitching draftees, at least the Jays are headed in the right direction in terms of winning mentality with the young players. a few key off-season acquisitions and this team could very well be hard to beat with the infusion of their already strong staff (need work in the bullpen)
