Tonights game featuring the yanks and jays was one of the worst officiated games i have seen in a while. The homeplate umpire seemed to throw out jays SS Yunel Escobar for no apparent than just shrugging his shoulders at a pitch(he was thrown out during the innings switch)... and as this happens of course the manager cito gaston comes out to defend his player and he gets thrown out....... and what do u know, the very next batter nick swisher argues a called third strike with alot more agression and intent than yunel showed and he isnt reprimanded at all. (girardi did pull him back, but he had alot of time before that). Thereafter, the rookie pitcher for the yanks has a pitch slip and gets warned, when clearly there was no intent to hit the batter. This trend is growing in baseball... the umpires are excercising their power way too often and more often than not the calls are no justified or even consistent. Sorry for the rant guys, just wanted to get your thoughts on the games umpires today.

Seemed like a ridiculous ejection. But without knowing what was said who knows. Maybe Yunel said something less appropriate than Nick.
Also, the warning to a guy making his MLB debut who had questionable control all night seemed pretty lame. That only hurts the other pitchers going forward.

Why does everyone think it is so ridiculous to issue a warning to a pitcher just because it is his MLB debut??? I am not saying that he threw at Bautista on purpose but lets face it.... The pitch was a fastball towards the head of the AL HR leader who already hit one HR in the game and took the previous pitch well into the second deck foul. Bautista also took several steps towards the mound so obviously he didnt think it was such an obvious accident and both benches emptied so why in the world is it not reasonable to warn both teams??? I'm sorry but if I am a Jays fan I am not buying the fact that it should just be ignored because he is a kid making his debut. I seem to remember Joba as a rookie throwing behind the head of Kevin Youkilis and getting a couple of games for it

Joba threw at his head twice in a year where he had great control.
Nova had a pitch slip on his debut when they were losing and had semi poor control all night.
Those are completely different scenarios.
