Will BYU go Indy?

Big 12 invite arrives and if it doesn't, BYU is Indy for the long term. The LDS church has too much stake into BYU TV. The LDS papal monarchy have christened the BYU indy move for increased exposure. You really think Hair Thompson will dictate which church owned events are permitted to be broadcasted on church owned TV ? BYU calls the shots now with their own channel, not the mtn network. It's done. I've heard it from several sources, both BYU attorney's and coaching staff.
That's a quote from the BYU board.
The Houston Rivals guy seems to think BYU is a lock to stay. Who knows?

Did find this.
blogs.mercurynews.co...mwcwac-developments/"But the guess here is that the future carnage won’t be as bad as some project and that the league will stay together, perhaps with two additions, perhaps with four … or perhaps in some form of alliance with the Sun Belt."

I think a decision has already been made. What is happening now is hammering out of details. Thompson should grant BYU most of the TV demands. Why? Because BYU gets the MWC their TV ratings. Sure, they will bail as soon as the Big 12 makes the call, but they were gonna do that anyway. What Thompson needs to hope is that the call comes in 2013 or after so he can get a few more years of BYU's success on the MWC AQ evaluation (and no, I don't think it'll work, but they are WAY closer with BYU than without them).

I'm still scratching my head over the USU thing...I'm starting to think that Juice is right about it. The only way USU gets in is if BYU bails. With all the concessions the rest of the league is making for BYU, I think adding USU on top of all that might be the straw that breaks the camels back. If TCU hates Houston, UTEP is a good compromise candidate. Otherwise, Houston is the smart pick (at least while they're winning). And, when BYU finally flies the coup, you've always got USU waiting.
