i've truly got to say that I was not a fan of the shoot out at all, but that being said I hate ending in a tie this is not soccer. i always felt they did the game a disservice by adding the shoot out. I've come around the last few seasons & it does add another dynamic to the game.

I would love to see Avery out a time or 2 imo he has the hands to be a 20 to 25 goal scorer & has the speed to be an effective shootout performer.

I have seen Gilroy have 2 breakaways and he scored on each. I think he could be an undiscovered shootout guy.
Guys like Gabs, Duby, Drury and Cally do not have great shootout percentages. EC and Prospal are easy choices. I was going on hope with MZA.
Gabs seems really lost on shootouts. I dont know why.

Ya, Gabs I realize isn't one of the greatest yet, but I still feel that if we are gonna have a 40+ goal scorer on the team he should be in the shootout, eventually he's gonna have to get better at it, he's too skilled not to IMO, he'll never get better at it sitting on the bench. I agree that MZA might not be ready for top minutes, but I do think he's ready for shootouts from what I've seen of his skill and speed, he'll get a chance to show it early in the season via the shootout in my opinion.

BSI I understand your thinking. Larry Brooks would complain when Jagr didnt want to be in the shootout but some guys know their strengths and weakness's. If PA Parenteau excels in the shootout but a guy like Gabs only scores on 11% of his shootout goals do we want to force things? I would use Gabs but I would not use him in the first 3 slots. Maybe 4th, 5th or 6th that way we take the pressure off him.
