because unfortunatly people look at the old timers as they did it when the nba was weak.... unfortuantly as well people will always compare future players as better then past.... i grew up as a mj fan love him he is the greatest, my father was a bird fan he thinks bird is the best, and my little cousin is a kobe fan its all about who you watch what you grew up with..... im sure all the 13 year old nba fans are on lebron hes the best thing other then kobe to hit the nba..... in 40-50 years watch mj russel bird wilt will all be top 10 players in the game they are currently top 5 its just how things work....

I'd say MJ simply because I've never seen Russell play. It's not to say the others weren't better, but I can't judge based on what I've heard; only what I've seen.
