Where's the honor from online players?

I've been playing 2k6 on Xbox Live quite a bit and am decent enough (the slow play online kills my timing at the plate), but there seems to be a recurring issue, today, at least. As most of you probably know, it's pretty common and accepted to play strikes only. Granted some people may wish to play differently, but I simply excuse myself before the game starts and go on my way. However, today, 3 times in a row, people have suddenly "forgotten" this unofficial rule in key moments. What's up with that? Isn't there any honor and respect left? The few times I've been blown out, I kept to my end of the deal and hit the zone all the time.

I agree half and half with you. First off, baseball is baseball and balls are part of the game. So for all of those gamer geeks out there that cry and quit when someone throws balls, get over it, its part of baseball. Can you imagine watching baseball in real life if the hitters knew it was going to be a strike everytime?

Now for the other half, since most of the online community abides by the strike only rule, I usually play that way until I my oponent breaks the rule. That being said, everyone should have enough self respect to not switch up in the middle of the game because you gave up a triple in the bottom of the 9th with only 1 out and a tied game and you dont want to give up a sac fly to lose the game so you throw in the dirt to basically cheat the other guy out of a win after he threw 9 innings of strike only baseball to you. There are always going to be people out there that do this, but you have to ask yourself if your one of those people, do you want it done to you?

all strikes is stupid....maybe you can find a tee bball video game or a slow pitch softball video game....play "baseball" dude....if it's a ball, don't swing...geesh!!!

As for the first half of your comment, let me explain, I don't mind strikes and balls if that's the way we're playing. ****, offline, you have to play that way regardless and I enjoy it. But when you agree to something, you should stick to it til the end.

I just hate going through half a game and then suddenly the guy starts throwing really off pitches because he messed up a play previously. If you want to play with balls and I agree, then it's fair play. However, when you agree to something, you have to stick it out.

i hate people who throw all balls, but it's part of the game. especially in a game like this one, where the ball comes in so gosh darn slow. if you can't see its gonna be a ball in all that time, then u need glasses. but if i am pitching to you, and you have bases loaded, you better believe im gonna try and throw bad pitches and get you to swing at one... as the pitcher, im doing my best to get an out, not necessarily to throw strikes... the best thing a pitcher can do is throw balls, that the hitter will still swing at

BigHurt, you have a great point.

No wonder this guy got "Blownout" if all you throw is strikes then of course your going to get blown out.

All strikes??? What is the average score of your games 15-12? That doesnt sound like fun to me. But then again I was a pitcher and love the sight of some "Jack" swinging at a slider in the dirt for strike 3, then the next time he's at the plate you get him looking on a 2-2 pitch. LOVE THAT!!!
